Open Rehearsal

 We're trying something new, and you're invited!

There's nothing we love like a nice, big morning rehearsal!  With show season winding down, we don't have performances to propel us, but our community practice as dancers and musicians can still stay intact.  With that in mind, we invite you come practice with us at our first ever Open Rehearsal!

Here's how this will work:

Within a few days, I'll be posting a list of songs that the musicians will be playing in the Open Rehearsal Facebook event.  This will include Sacred Shimmy standards (like songs off The Seeker) as well as some melodic pieces we've been working on and open rhythms.  Dancers will sign up for the songs they'd like to rehearse to - you can sign up as soloists or in groups, and you could even choose to dance with a prop like a basket, veil, or sword (BYOP, of course).  When we show up to rehearsal, we'll run the songs off the list back-to-back with minimal breaks in between to keep the energy in the room and maintain a productive session.

A note to Beat Science students: you're invited to participate as musicians on all the songs you know, some come ready with your notebook!  Musicians will not need to sign up for pieces.

Oh, also, admission is FREE!
